Terms of use

The fine print, kept short.

By using xpatlawyer.com you agree to the following. The site is operated by The Frankowski Firm, Birmingham, Alabama.

Attorney advertising

This website is advertising for legal services under the rules of the Alabama State Bar. No representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

Not legal advice

The material on this site is general information about securities arbitration and the problems Americans abroad encounter with US brokerage accounts. It is not legal advice and should not be relied on as such. Every case turns on its own facts, and the law changes. Nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship.

No attorney-client relationship until we both sign

Sending a message through this site, calling, or emailing does not make you a client. We become your lawyers only when a written engagement agreement is signed by you and the firm. Until then, do not send us confidential information you would not want the firm to see if it turns out we cannot represent you — for example, because of a conflict with an existing client.

Where we are licensed

Richard S. Frankowski is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Florida, and Texas. FINRA arbitration is a national forum, and the firm represents investors from across the United States and abroad in it. Where a matter requires local counsel in another jurisdiction, we will say so.

Deadlines

Claims are subject to FINRA’s six-year eligibility rule and to state statutes of limitation that may be shorter. Reading this site, or contacting us, does not stop any clock. If you believe you have a claim, act promptly.

Links and accuracy

Links to other websites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. We try to keep this site accurate and current but make no warranty that it is, and we accept no liability for reliance on it. Population figures for expatriate communities are estimates and are labeled as such.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Questions about them may be directed to The Frankowski Firm, 231 22nd St S #203, Birmingham, AL 35233, +1 888 741 7503.
